Shrivenham have appointed Wayne Petrie (pictured) as their new Development Manager along with former Royal Wootton Bassett Town coach, Dave Terry.
Following interviews held earlier in the week, the pair have been selected to continue the work begun by the outgoing Steve Hendry and speaking about the appointment, club Chairman Matt Hirst said: "I’m thrilled with the appointment of Wayne and Dave, they’re two extremely experienced local football men. This role is one that is taken extremely seriously by the club and one we describe as the centre pin in our young players development and one that needs to work in all areas of our footballing activity so we wanted to be sure we talked to all the potential applicants for the job."
“We’re very proud that the club attracted such quality applicants to the position which as you’d expect, made it a very difficult decision for the interviewing board to make the final decision but in the end, their experience swung it.
"Wayne and Dave both have had positive experiences in developing young talent through to senior football and both are clubman and in it for the long haul. Consistency is key for what we’re trying to achieve and we need people to be here for the journey, not just a couple of stops. Dave's pedigree is clear. Thirty plus years working at Royal Wootton Bassett Town is no mean feat, he’s a solid Level Two coach and I'm sure Shrivvy will benefit from all he's learnt. I can’t wait for the new season to get going and see the pair really take our Development side to the next level.”
